Bruce Eugene Burge Obituary (2024)

Bruce Burge, age 75, passed away at his home, on August 8, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer, heart disease, and kidney failure. Bruce was born on September 25, 1948, in Concordia, Kansas, to Lloyd and Lucille Burge. He attended schools in Seattle, Washington. He graduated from Lincoln High School, in 1967. After high school graduation, Bruce joined the Marines, where he served in Vietnam. He was the recipient of the Purple Heart. He went on to graduate from Boilermaker's Union Apprentice Program. He worked as a Boilermaker, until his retirement in 2007. He also served, for many years, as President of the Boilermakers Local 502. In December 1979, he married Kathy Dehart. They enjoyed being together for 47 years. During their time together, they traveled to all 50 states, as well as many foreign countries. Bruce also enjoyed golfing, riding his Harley Davidson, and spending time with his family and friends. Bruce is survived by his wife, Kathy, his daughter, Desiree Field, sons, Jason Burge, and Matthew Burge-Winquist. He has six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents. Kathy would like to extend a huge thank you to Dr. Julie Smith, and all nurses at Confluence Health that took great care of Bruce for the last two years. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 22, 2024, at 12:30pm, at the American Legion (208 N. Wenatchee Ave., Wenatchee).
