Charlene Dianne Weeks Kidd Obituary (2025)

Charlene Dianne Weeks Kidd (age 76) passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord on Tuesday, March 26, 2025 at Kadlec Hospital in Richland. WA. She was born on June 11, 1948 in Ellensburg, WA, to W. Clair and Patricia Weeks. Dianne had one brother, Ron. She moved with her family to Othello in the fall of 1954 and lived there until she graduated from high school in 1966. She worked on the school newspaper in high school and was editor of the Class Annual her senior year. She continued to work on the committee for class reunions over the years. She attended Peterson School of Business after high school and graduated in1968. After graduating from Peterson Business School and working in banking for some years, Dianne made the bold move to follow her heart and love of country music and moved cold turkey to Nashville, TN. She found work at the Opryland hotel. During this time, Dianne developed a love of exploration. She became infatuated with the rich history of the area, considering herself a 'tourist by day'. After recounting her many morning's adventures to hotel friends, a woman in the Tour Department offered Dianne a position as a Tour Guide. Upon returning to Othello in 1995 she worked in banking for six years. She started Kidd Kountry Tours with emphasis on tours to Nashville, Branson, and Las Vegas for the National Rodeo Finals. She relocated to the Tri-Cities in 2004. She worked for a period as a Customer Service Representative with Avis Car Rental. Since retiring she has been active with a number of community organizations. She was most active with the Richland Senior Association and was recently recognized at their annual event for her community service. Dianne is survived by her brother Ron Weeks and his wife Gloria. She was preceded in death by her parents W. Clair Weeks and mother Patricia K. Weeks. A Memorial Service will be held at 11AM on Friday, April 11th with Visitation beginning at 10 AM at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 640 N Columbia Center Blvd, Kennewick, WA 99336. Interment will be at Einan's in Richland. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lord of Life Lutheran Church. Brookside Funeral Home is caring for the family.
