Charles Merle Little Obituary (2024)

Charles "Chuck" Merle Little was born November 23, 1940, in Clinton, Arkansas, to Floyd and Dorothy (Chance) Little. He moved to Union Gap as a young boy, where he attended Union Gap grade school and graduated from Eisenhower High School with the class of 1959. He passed away November 13, 2024, at the age of 83, at Ohana Angel House, in Yakima, after a long and hard-fought battle with dementia. In the summer of 1959, he met Joyce Freeman, a new neighbor, and they later married in August of 1960. Chuck worked for various grocery stores, as produce manager and retired in December 2006. He was very active in Yakima Youth Baseball, serving as president of Yakima National Little league and Yakima Valley Pepsi Paks. He also coached a little league team for a number of years and served as a member of the West Valley Park board. He enjoyed fishing, hiking, and photography. Chuck is survived by his wife of 64 years, Joyce, daughter, Connie Kendrick, son, Gregory Little (Andrea), grandchildren, Lacey Little, Curtis Little (Mandy), and Austin Kendrick (Emily), his sister, Glenna Fay Burris, and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Dorothy Little, grandson, Brady Kendrick, brothers, Bill Little and Johnny Little, father-in-law, Gilbert Freeman, and mother-in-law, Madge Freeman. Per Chuck's request, there will be no services held. In lieu of a service, and to honor Chuck, we ask that you make a donation to your favorite charity. The family is forever grateful to the staff at Ohana Angel House, for the loving care given to Chuck since December 2023, when his needs became more than the family could provide. We also wish to thank Heartlinks Hospice for their loving part in making him comfortable in the last few months. Chuck will be forever loved and deeply missed.
