Karin Dee Linder Obituary (2024)

Karin Dee Peterson was born on January 27th, 1953, in Clarkston, Washington to Dorothy and Norman Peterson. Karin passed over to the other side on January 10th, 2024, in Yakima, Washington. Karin is now with her son Jason Linder, her brother Tim Peterson, her parents, and other loved ones that passed before her. Karin was a loving, caring, compassionate, generous, and forgiving person. Karin attended grade school and jr. high in Union Gap, Washington and graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1971. Two weeks after graduation Karin married her high school sweetheart, Raymond Linder. They had almost a 53-year long journey that ended too soon. On May 21st, 1974, Karin and Raymond were blessed by the birth of their only child, Jason. Being pregnant and attending the nursing program at Y.V.C. was a very hard time for her, but she persevered and graduated as a L.P.N. in June of 1974. She followed in her mom's footsteps into a long career in nursing. Karin started at the New Valley Osteopathic Hospital. Later she worked at Memorial and St. Elizabeth, as well as at Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic. Karin had to retire in the early 2000s because of health reasons. Karin's greatest love was her family. Whether it was a birthday party, holiday gatherings, camping trips, a weekend retreat with the Peterson girls, or a night out to dinner, she loved being with family. Some of Karin's most precious memories came from spending time with her grandkids, Kayla, and five years later came Reymond. She spent a lot of weekends with them. She really enjoyed camping at Cannon Beach in Oregon (one of her all-time favorite places). She also loved the Point Defiance Zoo, the Oregon Aquarium in Newport, and Ohanapecosh Campground. Her last special trip took place in California; she got to spend three full days in Disneyland/California Adventures with her husband Raymond, her granddaughter Kayla, Junior, and all her great grandkids. She also got to explore the Santa Monica Pier. Karin and her husband then went off to San Diego for four days to adventure in the beautiful city by themselves. Karin is survived by her husband Raymond Linder, her grandkids Kayla (Junior) and Reymond (Christian), her great grandkids Zaiden, Zavier, Jayson, and Amari, her brothers Randy (Ky), and Pat, as well as all her nieces and nephews. Karin is preceded in death by her son Jason Linder, who was taken from us by a needless act of violence on April 15th, 2011, her parents Dorothy and Norman, and her brother Tim Peterson. Karin chose cremation which was performed by Brookside Funeral Home. There will be no service at this time. A celebration of life will be held at a later date when the weather gets better.
