Kristi Kathleen Seefried Obituary (2025)

Our beloved mother, Kristi Kathleen Seefried, passed away unexpectedly in her home on March 7, 2025. She was born on March 30, 1951, in Soap Lake, Washington to Augustine and Wilma (Olson) Bennin, the third of five children. She graduated from Soap Lake High School in 1969 and went on to attend college in Spokane. Kristi found the greatest love of her life in her husband, Rich. They loved to travel and spend time with family and grandchildren. Together they travelled all along the Oregon Coast and made yearly stops at their cherished spot in Seaside generally bringing along any family members who wanted to go as well. After his cancer diagnosis, she was an incredibly dedicated wife being by his side supporting him throughout his treatments over 15 years and was devastated by his loss in 2013. Friendship and family were very important to Kristi. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren including yearly trips to Leavenworth with her kids and grandchildren. She liked wine tasting with her daughters and granddaughter. She always hosted Thanksgiving dinner at her house. She thoroughly enjoyed being a grandmother and adored any time she could spend with them. Kristi was always an active woman proudly participating in numerous 5k and 10k races which were often a family affair with her kids or sisters, Joan and Mary. She also enjoyed hiking with her daughter and grandson, she even hiked Machu Picchu in Peru which she was very proud of. She was immensely dedicated to her workout regimen and continued it up until her passing. Early in her life she had a daycare out of her home in Royal City so she could raise her first three kids until they were school aged then she worked as a bookkeeper. She later moved to Yakima in 1984 and continued working as a bookkeeper until she welcomed Tracy and William shortly thereafter and started another successful daycare to be home with them while they were little. During this time, she earned a bachelor's degree in accounting and became a Senior Pensions Administrator retiring in 2024. Kristi was very passionate in her relationship with God and attended church services regularly. She instilled faith and the love of God in her children as well. She absolutely loved her bible study group and found camaraderie, support and a deeper connection to Christ through this group. She enjoyed sharing lessons she was learning each week. Kristi is preceded in death by her father, Augustine, mother, Wilma, brother, Michael, and her husband, Rich. She is survived by her siblings, Steve, Joan, Mary, and her five children and eight grandchildren, Rebecca Larsen (Imran Magsi), granddaughters, Amethyst, Gulperi and Rabia, Angela Larsen (Jerry Williams) grandchildren, Augustine, Kayla and Ricardo; David Larsen; Tracy Seefried (Jeff Taylor) and grandsons Conner and Weston, and William Seefried. Kristi will be greatly missed and is forever in our hearts. Kristi's FUNERAL SERVICE at West Side Church on Thursday, March 20th at 1:00pm.
