Manuel 'Robert' H. Tamez Paz Obituary (1954

Manuel Humberto Tamez (Robert) was born on February 11, 1954, in General Tern, Nuevo Len, Mexico to Manuel & Estella Tamez. On December 24, 2020, he was taken from us far too soon but will never be forgotten. Robert was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother, and friend to many. They moved to Texas when he was 2 years old and from there, they moved to California. Eventually, his family made their way to Idaho. They lived in Minidoka County for most of his life. On February 28, 1972 he enlisted in the Army to serve his country for 6 years. While living in Idaho he found the love of his life, Mary Rivera, they married on April 7, 1973. He loved his family deeply and would do anything for them. They raised 4 children which then gave him 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. In 1999 he moved to Yakima, WA to start the next chapter to work with his brother Frank. Having a passion for cars and racing was another joy in his life. Weekends out at Renegade Raceway burning rubber and seeing if next time he could beat his last time. When he wasnt racing, he was always there to lend a helping hand or give some advice. You could always count on Robert to tell you what you needed to hear. One thing that you could always count on was Roberts bear hugs and his bone-crushing handshakes. He truly was a legend that won't be forgotten. He was preceded in death by his sister Yolanda Enfield, brother Jose Tamez, and his Father Manuel Tamez who passed on January 9, 2021. He is survived by his wife Mary, children Christine Tamez Mcclain, Manuel H. Tamez III (Robert Jr), Alexander Tamez, Estella Tamez Thornton, 13 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, parents Manuel & Estella Tamez, brothers Frank Tamez, Ted Tamez, and Gary Tamez, sisters Marilu Tamez Garcia, Letty Tamez, Nora Tamez, Mara Tamez Stattner.
