Archie NMN CURTSINGER Obituary (2024)

Dad passed away Thursday Sept 19th at Fieldstone Memory Care, where he had resided for the last two years. He was born in Okemah, OK to George and Mary Emmaline Curtsinger. At 18 years old he relocated with his parents and younger brother to Corcoran, CA where they joined his older two brothers to work in the cotton fields of the San Joaquin Valley. It was there that he met and married his wife Bobbie June. They had three children, Patsy (Ross) Long of Yakima, WA, Randy (Barbara) Curtsinger of Corcoran, CA, and Tom (Cheri) Curtsinger of Kent, WA. Dad was a great guitar player and had started playing in a band, when a visit to revival service changed his life. He felt a call to the ministry in his early 20's and began preaching the gospel and using his talents for the Lord. Dad and mom were pastoring a church in Avenal, CA when mom unexpectedly passed away. Shortly after, Dad married Pat Estes. Their children were Jack (Heather) Curtsinger of Cowiche, WA and Jeff (Camille) Curtsinger of Cheyenne, WY. Dad and Pat sang and wrote songs together and pastored churches in Washington, Oregon, and Oklahoma during their 50 years together. In addition to his ministry, which was his first love, Dad went to work for Laymen Logging in Naches where he eventually learned to operate heavy duty equipment. He got so proficient on the grader that he helped build roads into Mt. St. Helens after it blew in 1980. Dad is survived by his children Patsy, Randy, Tom, Jack, and Jeff, 18 grandchildren, and too many to count great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his six brothers Earl, Earney, Jewel, Leo, Jackie, and Zenas, his first Wife Bobbie in 1960, and wife Pat in 2011.
