Carolyn L Merritt Obituary (2023)

On August 22nd, Carolyn Merritt sadly passed away surrounded by her family and friends at the age of 76, after a hard-fought battle with Parkinsons Disease. While her family mourns her, they take comfort in the fact that she went on to join her mother Lela, her father Richard, her brother Jeff, and her sister Pixie in Heaven. During her time on Earth, Carolyn was a dedicated wife to Patrick, and a wonderful mother to their two children, Lori and Clayton. To anyone who knew Carolyn, they would say that she was a woman who was always there when you needed her and would never give up on you no matter what situation you found yourself in. The many friendships she made along the way is a testament to her unwavering dedication and affection and she kept those friendships during the entirety of her life. Carolyn grew up in Republic, where she met and married her high school sweetheart, Pat. Soon after, they made their home in Cle Elum, where they continued to live for the past 55 years. This is where they established their wonderful life together and where they raised their two children; two children whom Carolyn was so proud of every day, until her passing. Given Carolyns warm nature, her family was incredibly close, and Lori and Clayton always appreciated their mother, and they loved her as much as a person possibly could love someone. In her 23-year battle with disease, she fought with an attitude to never give up, and not once did she never let that disease interfere with the wonderful life that she and Pat had built together. Carolyn was, and continues to be, so incredibly loved and will be forever missed. She is survived by her two children, Lori and her husband Tod and Clayton and his wife Karyn and three grandchildren, Sidney, Kaele, and Holden. There will be a small celebration of life for friends and family on Saturday, September 16th at 1:00 at the Merritts residence at 1360 Airport Road in Cle Elum.
