Cecil L. Dawson

Cecil L. Dawson, 74, passed away at his home in Yakima on Sunday, February 9, 2014. Cecil was born on August 7, 1939 in Fort Scott, Kansas to his parents Silas and Alene Dawson.
Cecil married Lou Ann Sullenger on May 25, 1960. He loved his family and family outings and set an outstanding example for his children as a husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. His quick wit kept us all on our toes. Cecil coached Grid Kids football and youth baseball and was active in the East Valley Booster Club where he served as president. He was a coach and friend and was always there to lend a hand.
Cecil is survived by his loving wife Lou Ann Dawson, sons Michael (Sherry) Dawson of Selah and Rick (Susan) Dawson of Pasco. His sister Karen ( Dennis) Hambek and nephew Brian Hambek. Grandchildren Lauren Dawson, Amanda Dawson And Ryan Dawson and great grandchildren Talia and Sophia Mills, Chelsey Brimblecombe and Lily Steinhauer. Cecil was preceded in death by his parents and his step-dad Bud Ekelman.
A Celebration of Life Service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 13, 2014 at the Yakima Alliance Church, 902 S. 36th Ave.
