Charles Junior Eaton Obituary (2025)

Charles Junior Eaton, age 89, of Yakima, Washington passed away February 28, 2025, at Landmark Care Center. Charlie was born July 20, 1935, in Kingston, Arkansas, to Walter and Artie Eaton. The family moved to Wiley City, Washington in 1951. Dad attended Highland High School and worked in numerous field and orchard jobs. At age 20 he enlisted in the Navy and served on the minesweeper USS Gallant Stationed out of San Diego and Pensacola, Florida. Charlie had a daughter Linda prior to his marriage to Lillian Bolt in 1957, together they had four children, Darla, Dianna, Denise and Dale. After his honorable discharge in April 1966 the family moved back to Wiley City. He started his 33-year employment at Boise Cascade Sawmill in Yakima. He retired and enjoyed traveling South for the winter months to Arizona. He enjoyed spending time with family, friends, camping, baseball games and casinos. Charlie is survived by his companion of the past 16 years, Helen Sorenson of Utah, children, Linda Russell of Oklahoma, Darla Schrader (Mike) of Newport, Washington, Dianna Reynolds (Jerry) of Yakima, Washington, Dale Eaton (Nancy) of Yakima, Washington, 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Betty Starr (Tom) of Salem, Oregon. He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Artie Eaton, sisters, Mildred Wages, Patricia Bonnett, brothers, Dillion Eaton and Paul Eaton and infant daughter, Denise Eaton. Services will be held Friday, March 7, 2025 at Brookside Funeral Home (500 West Prospect Place, Moxee, WA). A viewing will be at 9:30am with the service starting at 10:00am. A Graveside Service with be at West Hills Cemetery (11800 Douglas Road, Yakima, WA) at 1:30 P.M. Brookside Funeral Home is caring for the family.
