Clifford "Cliff" LeDuc Obituary (1930

Clifford "Cliff" LeDuc a devoted husband, grandfather, great grandfather, son and friend passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of July 23, 2025 at the age of 94. Born in Yakima, Washington on August 9, 1930, on his mother's birthday. Cliff was the son of Franklin and Eva (Briggs) LeDuc. Cliff enjoyed a wonderful childhood playing with cousins in and around the Yakima Valley. He attended Yakima schools and graduated from Yakima High School in 1949. Upon graduating he enlisted in the US Army. He served in the Army Reserves for 20 years, exiting as Captain, in the Artillery Division. He was very proud of his service and felt it was an honor to give back and honor his country. On July 21, 1949 he married the love of his life Barbara Jean Boyde, while at training camp at Fort Bragg in El Paso, Texas. They returned to Yakima, Washington to begin their lives together. They were blessed by three beautiful children Ronald Franklin LeDuc in 1955, Linda Elaine LeDuc in 1957 and Sharon Lynne LeDuc in 1960. Together they established a small family business called Cliff's Meats, with the first location on Fruitvale Ave in 1959, then moved to a larger shop, located in Naches, Washington. His children could be seen wrapping meat and helping every day. Cliff was a meticulous butcher, trusted and respected among customers, and together with Barb, they grew this business to provide quality meat and products for the Yakima Valley until 1987. He went on to work in many area retail and wholesale meat departments before his retirement. Cliff enjoyed many outdoor activities with his family, from boating, water skiing and snowmobiling. He was active in many local clubs related to these outdoor activities, like the Ridge Runners, the Yakima Rotary, Ski Benders, the Yakima Boat Club, and the Fox Island Yacht Club, later in his life. He and Barb loved their time in Gig Harbor, WA, boating around the San Juan Islands and crabbing and fishing. His love for his family and friends were beyond measure. He was always willing to lend a hand. His smile and humor touched many along the way. He was preceded in death by his parents Franklin & Eva LeDuc (1973/1989), daughter Sharon (1971), son Ron (2003), and wife Barbara in (2016). Cliff's life was marked by hard work, generosity, love and laughter. His loyalty and dedication to his wife and family was remarkable, especially in his care for Barb in her most difficult time. At the age of 94, many of his closest family and friends have gone before him. He will be deeply missed by those he leaves behind. He is survived by his daughter Linda and husband Dan Hughes; three grandchildren, Andrea (Damon) Mueller, Daniel (Kim) Hughes and Jamie (Matt) Clark; and eight great-grandchildren Nicholas, Dylan, Grace, Madelyn, Jameson, Jack, Kennedy and Harper. He is also survived by many extended family and friends. It is Cliff's wish to be interned at the Terrace Height Memorial Park with his wife, daughter and son.
