Danny Laurel Trissel Obituary (2023)

On November 27, 2023, Danny passed away at the age of 69. Born on November 20, 1954 to Curly and Janet Trissel in Norfolk, Virginia. Brother to three sisters. With his father being in the Navy, Danny moved around from California, Guam, and Nevada. Eventually, settling in Gleed, Washington after his father retired. Danny attended Naches School District, where he made many lifetime friends. He joined the Navy at 17 years old, and served his four years on the USS Kitty Hawk, and was honorably discharged at the age of 21. Following his service to his country, he pursued a career playing with blocks and mud. He became a well-known skilled brickmason. He took great pride in his craft, and laid every brick with precision. All which can be seen on the gleed home he built for his family of 5. Throughout his career Danny had the opportunity to travel and work on many different builds. He enjoyed every job, but his favorites to be a part of where the Seattle Seahawks stadium and the Seattle Mariners stadium. Danny was extremely proud of his craft and accomplishments over his career as a brickmason. Danny married Jill Downard in 1990, and became a father to three boys. Daniel, Skyler, and Kody. The only thing Danny took more pride in than his work, was loving/raising his boys. Creating many memories, life lessons, and inspiring them to do their best. He was a father figure to many more than just his own. Patient teacher, strong steady leader, giver, not a taker, honest and fair. Danny made an impact on everyone around him. Anyone else would call him "Superman" but his fortunate boys just called him "Dad". Danny was known to be a brawny man, but the only thing bigger than his biceps was his heart. He wouldnt hesitate to help anyone in need. He never did it for the praise, but its what truly made him happy. He was an admirably honest man, whose laugh and humor was infectious. Through his life, he provided faithfully for his family by a commitment to hard work and dedicated to creating a home for them. Danny had many hobbies including woodworking, physical health, exploring nature, riding his Harley, and coaching his boys through sports, never missing a single game. He continued that legacy with his grandkids as well. He also enjoyed playing cribbage, horseshoes, racquetball, and golf. He often reminisced about his time in Guam, and how much he thoroughly enjoyed it. But his biggest passion was loving, teaching, raising, and friending his sons! A remarkable man whose heartfelt hugs will be be forever missed by many!! Danny is preceded in death by his parents, Janet and Curly Trissel. He is survived by his three sons Daniel Huston, Skyler Trissel, and Kody Trissel. six grandchildren Masen, Trinity, Karter, Kynzlee, and Emmett, and three sisters Angie Wandler, Wanda Longmire, and Kristie Dollar. A celebration of Danny's life will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 3:00pm at the Selah Civic Center (216 S 1st St, Selah, WA 98942).
