Danny Lee

Danny R. Lee passed away Monday, December 21, 2015. Danny was born December 29, 1946 in Spokane and then adopted in 1950 by his parents; Henry Luther Lee and Ina Florence (Guier). Danny and his family moved from Quincy to Wapato, where he graduated high school in 1965. Danny joined the Army after high school and served in the Company B 63rd Engineer Battalion in Vietnam until his honorable discharge in 1968. Danny married Sue Tucker on April 4, 1970 and they made a home with their three children in Union Gap and then in Moxee. Danny and Sue raised Angus cattle and he enjoyed taking his prized cows to the Central Washington State Fair. He also loved watching his children participate in the 4-H and FFA livestock fairs around the valley. Every year, Danny and his family would go to the ocean to camp out and spend the week crabbing and fishing. His favorite part of vacation was teaching the kids how to catch and clean crab and fish. Danny worked as a long haul truck driver at Ace Hardware and then at Walmart until his retirement in 2014. Over his driving career, he achieved just over 2.7 million miles with no accidents. Danny enjoyed driving truck and his favorite route was up to Alaska, and he lovingly earned the nickname 'Grumpy' by his co-workers.

By far, spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren was his greatest joy.

Danny is survived by his wife Sue (Tucker) of Moxee; children Richard (Thea) of University Place, Brenda of Moxee, and Missy (Jeff) of Prosser; his grandchildren Kristina (Edgar), Samantha, Anthony, Sebastian, Bailee, and Peyton; and great grandchildren Alex, Kaylee, Emma, and Andrew; his brother Jack Lee of Goldendale and his sister Tawnya McCarthy of Yakima.

Memorial Services for Danny will be Monday, December 28, 2015 at 2 pm at Brookside Funeral Home (500 W. Prospect, Moxee).
