Darrell J Turner Obituary (2024)

Darrell J. Turner was born, along with his twin brother Harrell, on June 18, 1938 to Alvina and William Turner in Springfield, Missouri. Darrell was the second youngest of 10 children. His parents moved to Yakima when he was around 10 years old. Darrell graduated from West Valley High School in 1958, after which he met and married his first wife, Carol Donaldson and fathered three children; Denise, Kathy, and Jeff. Darrell first worked as a beekeeper for Congdon orchards. Later he worked for the meat industry, working his way up the ladder until he retired from Washington Beef as plant superintendent. After Darrell's divorce from Carol, he met and married Sandy Cole, and gained a stepson, Mark. Darrell and Sandy had a long a loving marriage which ended with Sandy's death in 2016. Of late, Darrell found new love with "Shugie" Linda Wade. Darrell was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and five sisters. He is survived by his sister Bonnie, his children, six grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Darrell lived a rich, full life, always willing to help his neighbors, his friends, and his Church. The fruits of his faith were evident to all. Darrell will be missed by many. Viewing on Tuesday, February 27th from 3:00 to 6:00 pm at Brookside Funeral Home. Rosary at 5:00pm. Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, February 28th at 10:00am at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Moxee. Followed by Graveside Service at Calvary Cemetery at 11:15am.
