Dianna Fay Rodriguez Obituary (2024)

Dianna Fay Thomas-Rodriquez of Yakima, WA passed away peacefully, Sunday October 20, 2024. She was 79. She was born to Oris and Dellaphine Thomas on July 23rd, 1945 in Highland Kansas and was 1 of 10 children . Dianna spent her younger years in Kansas before the family relocated to Ellensburg, WA. She was a graduate of Ellensburg High School. She met her future husband Owen Null in Ellensburg, shortly after they Wed on June 21, 1964 and moved to Yakima where they had 2 children, Alesia Gregson and Chad Null. The family spent many weekends traipsing around the near-by mountains, camping, fishing, hunting, and exploring. Dianna and Owen were members of the Selah Jaycee's where they met their best friends Doug and Norma and became lifelong friends. Dianna was an avid gardener, often growing her own food. Her favorite flowers were peonies. She loved crafting and travel. She loved reading and was especially interested in history. She also spent many an hour working on her genealogy and was able to trace her paternal side - Thomas, back over 1,300 years. She would get goosebumps learning of the stories of past family members. Dianna spent years performing Polynesian dancing with a local troop, and traveling to perform Luaus. She was fascinated by their culture. Her love of song and dance didn't stop there. Anytime there was music, she'd start moving, even more so if Elvis or Patsy Cline was playing. She loved cooking and baking, and making her annual jams and jellies. Prior to retirement, Dianna worked for Buttrey's, and later for Albertson's. She made many wonderful friendships through her check-out line. Dianna's most precious gift was her family, nothing made her happier than spending time with them. She especially loved spoiling her grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her brothers, Phil, William and Don, her sisters Marilyn, Betty and Lois, her daughter Alesia Gregson, her son, Chad Null and daughter-in-law Jenn Null, four grandchildren, Lake Gregson, Teran Gregson, Kala Null and Xander Jones, and 6 great-grandchildren.
