Donna Wilson Detering Obituary (2026)

Donna Keagle Wilson Detering 03/02/1933 – 07/14/2026 Donna Keagle Wilson Detering passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and loved ones, after more than 93 wonderful years. Donna was born in Cashmere, WA to Harold and Gertrude Keagle, and grew up in East Wenatchee. She spent her childhood exploring the orchards with friends and tagging along to work with her dad (especially when it involved hamburgers at the local drive-in on the way home). In 1951, after graduating from Wenatchee High School, she married Arnold “Arnie” Wilson and moved to Georgia (and later Missouri) while he was in the Air Force. After Arnie's military service, they returned to Wenatchee, where they raised two daughters and worked side by side in the orchards until Arnie's sudden passing in 1976. Though her career moved from the orchards to the insurance industry, Donna never stopped serving her community. She volunteered with the Wenatchee Valley College Foundation, served as a poll worker during local elections, and helped with countless blood drives. Years later, mutual friends introduced Donna to Arden "Dete" Detering. They married in 1986 and shared forty wonderful years together in Wenatchee, surrounded by family and lifelong friends. Donna loved her family, her garden, and perhaps most of all, animals—there wasn’t a critter that she didn’t find cute. She adored her cat, Miss Kitty, and any quail, dog, or skunk that wandered into her yard. Donna was happiest outside, whether hiking Saddle Rock or riding her bike along the riverfront. No one ever had an ill word to say about Donna. She was funny, kind, fearless, and loving to all beings. Donna lived her life with grace and a fierce sense of humor. Even in her final days she found joy in the littlest moments, like strawberry milkshakes. Donna is survived by her husband Arden Detering, her daughters Melinda Weber (Rick), and Mitzi Carletti (Chris), her grandchildren Bryan Galbraith (Kassie), Megan Galbraith (Tim Jolin), Wilson Carletti, and Sam Carletti, her great-grandchildren Kate Jolin, and Avery Galbraith, her brother Russ Keagle (Kathy) and her nieces Heather Paddock (Sean) and Stephanie Cornejo (Omar).
