Donna Lee Walker

It is with great sorrow, that we announce the passing of our momma Donna Lee Walker on August 15, 2014. Mom was born April 1, 1930 in Des Moines, Iowa. She moved to the Yakima Valley as a young girl. She grew up mostly on Jerome Ave where she not only met our dad Lynn Jewett but her life long friend Sadie Heckart, his sister. Mom graduated from the eighth grade, but when she was 49 she got her GED and went to beauty school. She was an accomplished hairdresser and gardener, always helping others with their yards. Later in life she married James Rogers. Momma passed with her loving daughters at her side. She is survived by her gilds Karen Russell (Gary), Debbie Gifford (Mike), Paula Jewett (Mary), grandkids: Shelby Brown (Tracy), Laura Rains (Alex), Jamie Gifford (Aimee), Bill Gifford (Kristi), Josh Gifford (Jessica), and Becky Gifford; 19 great grandkids; siblings Dick Walker and Jean Andreas; and many family members who will deeply miss her.
