Donnetta's life was a testament to kindness, resilience, and joy. She was a woman of remarkable strength and radiant warmth--her laughter and compassion brightened every room she entered. Whether offering a hug, a witty remark, or a steady hand, Donnetta's presence was a gift to all who knew her. Her career with the Wapato School District began as an elementary school lunch lady, but it was always more than a job--it was her mission. She made it her calling to ensure every child was fed, cared for, and greeted with kindness. As kitchen supervisor at Camas/Satus Elementary, Donnetta's dedication and leadership touched generations of students and staff, leaving an immeasurable impact. Donnetta's greatest partnership was with her beloved husband, Michael Derrey. Their marriage was built on decades of mutual devotion, laughter, and unwavering support. Together, they created a home filled with warmth and welcome, where family and friends gathered for holidays, celebrations, and everyday moments. Their love was evident in the way they cared for each other--especially in later years, when Donnetta became Michael's constant companion and advocate during his journey with Alzheimer's Disease. She met this chapter with the same unwavering devotion and love that defined her life, embodying the true meaning of partnership. Above all, Donnetta cherished her family. She was a proud and devoted grandmother, finding her greatest joy in the laughter and love of her grandchildren. Her legacy lives on through her son Mitchell Derrey and his husband Gary Barthold, her daughter Molly Perez and her husband Michael Perez, and her two adored grandchildren, Paisley Perez and Jaxon Perez. She is also survived by her loving sisters Diana Rick and Debbie Anderson, along with a large extended family of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will forever carry her memory in their hearts. Donnetta leaves behind a legacy not just of lives touched, but of hearts shaped--by her love, her laughter, and her unwavering compassion. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
