Dusty Allen Wangler Obituary (2023)

Our beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend to many, Dusty Allen Wangler, passed away August 18, 2023 in Yakima, WA. Dusty was born on September 24, 1983 in Yakima, WA. Dusty grew up in Selah, attended and graduated from Selah Schools in 2002. Dusty's first job was at Selah McDonald's where he worked his way up to manager during his time there. After high school Dusty spent time in Killeen, Texas with Ryan and Tammy Hoffert from 2011 to 2013 being a nanny to the Hoffert children, Haiden and Bristol, who held a special place in Dusty's heart. Dusty was their godfather. Dusty returned to Selah and followed his love for cooking by being a chef in a few different retirement homes. Dusty loved all things green and could make anything grow and bloom. He delighted in sharing his plant starts and knowledge with family members. He loved all things old and overlooked the flaws and saw potential beauty in everything. He loved to cook (that does not include cleanup). And could whip up a meal for 2 to 20 in the drop of a hat. Dusty had a knack for finding the best deals at thrift stores, estate, and yard sales, always finding the coolest gifts for his nephew, nieces, cousin and his Mom and Dad. Dusty was blessed with friends that started at a young age and continued through his life. "Everyone has a friend during each stage of life, but the lucky ones have the same friends in all stages of life." Dusty had special bonds with each and every one of his friends; no matter how long it had been since they had connected, they could pick up right where they left off. A light from our household is gone, a voice we love is stilled. A place is vacant in our hearts that can never be filled. You may be gone Dusty Allen Wangler, but you will never be forgotten. Dusty was preceded in death by his grandparents Burl and Kathleen Mc Pherson, Paul Sr. and Helen Wangler, uncle Bobby and aunt Dalynne Wangler, uncles Mark Mc Questen and Ron Mc Pherson and his namesake Allan Calvert. Dusty is survived by his parents Ron and Sue Wangler, brother Scott (Amy Kaluza), sister Jamie (Trent Poage), aunts and uncles Montie and Vera Mc Pherson, Becky Mc Pherson (Rob Jaderlund), Cindy and Rick Kirwan, Ron and Sue Bernier, Don and Kim Wangler, Paul Wangler Jr, and Renee Mc Questen and many cousins. He is also survived by his beloved nieces and nephews Arionna, Tavin, Halie and Braden. The light of Dusty's life was his little yorkie "Odie", who misses Dusty terribly. In lieu of services there will be a Celebration of Life on September 24, 2023 from 12:00 to 4:00 at the Selah Civic Center, on his 40th birthday.
