Dwight Emery Reedy Obituary (2025)

In Loving Memory of Dwight Emery Reedy- Dwight passed away on July 10, 2025, surrounded by family and friends. Dwight was born in Nampa, Idaho on August 18, 1955, to Delores Emery and Charles Reedy. Dwight grew up in Yakima, Washington, with his 11 siblings and many cousins. Throughout his life, Dwight touched countless lives with his generosity and kindness. Dwight loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to the casino, and riding motorcycles - especially his Harley-Davidson. He had a way of being a mentor to those around him, earning respect from everyone who knew him. Dwight was always a good provider - not just for his own family but for many other families in need. Dwight met Connie Holt when he was a teenager and immediately knew she was the one. At age 15, Dwight and his sister Sharon, rode their 10-speeds from Yakima to Albany, Oregon, so he could prove his love and propose to Connie. Together they had a son, Chris Reedy. Nothing in Dwight's life gave him more meaning than his son. One of Dwight's greatest joys in life was becoming a grandfather. He was so proud when Little Dwight was born and he proudly carried the title of "Grandpa". He spoiled Little Dwight every chance he got. His face would light up every time Little Dwight was near. After his separation from his first love Connie, Dwight found love once again with Fawn who had recently passed. He joined his beloved son, Chris Emery Reedy, and the rest of the family who had gone to heaven before him (Stacy, Stanley, Dwayne, Sharon, Evelyn, Steve, Teresa, Delores and Chuck, Nathaniel, and his love Fawn). Dwight is survived by his grandson Dwight Reedy, his siblings Michelle, Brian, Brent, and Mark, numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. The memories of him riding his Harley with a grin, sharing stories, giving advice, F&F Fridays, and drinking R&R with the family and chosen family, will live on with every one of us. A Celebration of Life will held on Saturday, August 2nd at 12:00pm at the Veterans Hall at 911 N 15th Ave, Yakima, WA. Brookside Funeral Home is caring for the family.
