Elizabeth 'Betsy' Egley Obituary (1939

Elizabeth (Betsy) Ann (Hulscher) Egley Loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and dear, dear friend. Betsy Egley, 80, passed away on Wed, Dec 18, 2019 at Cottage in the Meadow. She was born Aug 14, 1939 in Tacoma as the 2nd child in a loving family of seven. At seven years old, she was run over by a vehicle which should have been fatal, but miraculously survived. At an early age she began her lifetime of dedicated work ethic carrying for her younger siblings and the family home. She graduated from St. Leos High School then began her successful career with Prudential Insurance. Her job brought her to Yakima in 1963 where she lived in a ladys boarding house across the street from the Egleys home. Soon thereafter, she met the love of her life, Merlin and they married July 13, 1963. They have two daughters, Theresa (Missie) Hall (David) and Shannon Fehrenbacher. Two grandchildren, Cody and Isabelle Hall. Betsy always kept a lovely home, was a wonderful hostess, and caring mother. Her loved ones cherish memories of weekends spent at the American River cabin, annual camping trips to Lake Wenatchee, celebrating 4th of July at Rimrock Lake, and hosting large family reunions. Merlin and Betsy owned and operated the 5th Ave Dairy Queen in the early 70s. After selling the DQ, she worked many years for FMC later known as Agritech until they closed. In her retirement years, she loved going to exercise, three times a week for 17 years with her good friends. Talented Artist, Seamstress, Knitter and Crafter. She was loved by all. Rest in Peace, Betsy. The family would like to thank her Drs as well as the wonderful staff at the Cottage in the Meadow.
