It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Guadalupe "Lupe" Orozco Lucero, this Christmas Eve. Surrounded by her family, she peacefully transitioned, leaving behind a legacy of love and compassion. Born on January 10, 1963, the eldest of seven, she embraced responsibility and care from an early age. Lupe was our guiding star, a beacon of love, and the glue that held our family together. Her fierce spirit and extraordinary kindness shaped her into the remarkable woman we cherish. Though she never had children of her own, Lupe embodied the essence of motherhood. She lovingly helped raise her brothers, sisters, and their children. Her greatest accomplishment was mothering Robert, Andrew, Frank, and Mike, whom she raised since birth. Her love transcended bloodlines, welcoming significant others and new family members with open arms, creating a home in every heart she touched. As a dedicated schoolteacher for over 30 years, Lupe inspired countless students to embrace learning, resilience, and compassion. Her classroom was a haven of hope and acceptance, where every child felt seen and supported. Her selfless devotion transformed lives, leaving an indelible impact on her community. Lupe leaves behind her father, Jesus, siblings, Jesus Jr (Jesse), Silvia, Ignacio (Nacho), Elvira, Maria, and Victor, 19 nieces and nephews, 18 great-nieces and nephews (with two more on the way), her beloved doggy-nephew, Teddy, and countless friends and former students. She now joins her mother, Petra (Nana), in heaven, leaving us with cherished memories of her warmth, laughter, and unwavering love. A celebration of Lupe's life will be held on Saturday, January 18th at 11:00am, at Holy Rosary, in Moxee, Washington. Followed by a reception afterwards. In lieu of flowers, please honor her memory by donating to an animal shelter or spending time with loved ones, a testament to the causes she held dear. Rest in peace, dearest Lupe. You were our mother, rock, and pillar of strength. Your love will forever guide us, and your legacy will live on in the hearts you touched. Fly high with the angels, alongside Nana. Until we meet again, you will live forever in our hearts.
