James Harry Swan Obituary (2025)

Jim Swan, son of Robert and Helen Swan, was born August 11, 1936 in Yakima, WA and passed away July 12, 2025 at Crescent Health Center in Yakima. Jim graduated from Wapato High School in 1954. He married his high school sweetheart, Jean Kehl, in 1956, and the couple moved to Bremerton, WA. Jim worked 17 years at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and the Keyport Naval Torpedo Base while earning his MBA from the University of Washington. In 1973 the family returned to the Wapato area where Jim farmed until his retirement in 2000. He is survived by his wife Jean, son Doug (wife Barb) of Seattle, daughter Terry Barbe of Everett, and Sandra Zachman of Fishkill, New York; six grandchildren, Tim and Jason Swan, Alex and Simon Barbe, Nico and Julia Zachman, and numerous nieces and nephews who were very dear to him.
