It is with immense love that we remember Jean Allison Hereth, who peacefully left us on September 14, 2026. Born in Everett and raised in Granite Falls, Jean was a compassionate soul, firm in her Lutheran faith, and resilient in her life's journey. On August 24th, 1968, Jean married the love of her life, Ken Hereth, beginning a life together centered around family, love, and countless cherished memories. They first made Selah their home, where they raised their children, Kendra and Matthew, before living in Cusick and Lake Stevens. They eventually returned to Selah, where they remained and built their life together. Jean was an embodiment of love, strength, and support, shining her light on everyone fortunate enough to have crossed her path.
Jean held a masters degree in Education. She served as a loving teacher for over 30 years, teaching home economics to junior and high school students before moving to kindergarten and second-grade classrooms. She took immense pride in her role as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. In every role she played, Jean was a supportive pillar, embracing life with grace and kindness. Her love for animals resonated with her gentle soul, and she had many beloved pets throughout her life. Her passions included sewing, quilting, and reading.
Jean's love and light continue to shine through her surviving loved ones; her loving husband, Ken Hereth; her children, Kendra Lenseigne (Trevor Lenseigne) and Matt Hereth (Megan Hereth); her grandchildren, McKenna Kupp Geck (Brycen Geck), Kyler Kupp, Carter Hereth, Carson Hereth, Madi Lenseigne; her sisters, Kathy Puffenbarger, Joan Seifert (Don Seifert); and her many beloved nieces and nephews. She now reunites in heavenly peace with her dear ones who preceded her; her father, Everett Younce, her mother and step-father, Margaret Younce-Siverts and Norman Siverts, her father and mother-in-law, Walt and Alvina Hereth, her brother-in-law, Lyle Hereth, her brother-in-law, Mark Hereth, her son-in-law, Kyle Kupp, her brother-in-law, Harold Puffenbarger, her brother-in-law Eric Anderson, and her sister, Molly Anderson.
As we remember Jean, we find comfort in the words of Jesus, "Do not let your hearts be troubled... In my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am." -John 14:1-3. Her legacy of love, support, and compassion will forever be etched in our hearts.
We invite you to share your cherished memories of Jean Allison and upload your favorite photos of her on the memorial page.
