Jimmy Wayne Curtsinger Obituary (2023)

Jimmy was born to Earney and Ellen Mae (Thomas) Curtsinger on July 2, 1946 in Okemah, Oklahoma. He moved from Oklahoma and his family settled in Corcoran, California. He graduated from Corcoran High School in 1964. He left Corcoran and came to work with his uncle Archie in Toppenish, Washington, roofing houses in 1965. Jimmy met Helen Connor in Toppenish and they dated until his enlisted in the U.S. Army. Jim wanted to serve his country. In the spring of 1966, he called Helen and asked her to marry him. They married August 13, 1966 and he went back to Virginia to finish his enlistment. When he was discharged, they returned to Washington and moved to Naches. Jim went to work for Laymans Sawmill and worked there until he was severely injured on June 13, 2002. He spent three months at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. It took many surgeries and countless doctor visits to regain his quality of life. He never complained through any of it, always keeping a positive attitude for recovery. He loved his life and family so much and never gave up hope. He has two children, Scott and Shelly, that were always there for him to lend support in his recovery. He always enjoyed raising his children. He had such fond memories of boating, fishing, and camping trips with them. He is survived by his wife, Helen, and his children Scott (Shelly) of Moxee and Shelly (Adam) Mack of Pendelton, Oregon, five beautiful grandchildren Kyler Curtsinger, Dylan Curtsinger and Sarah Curtsinger of Moxee, Ona Mack and Morris Mack of Pendleton, four siblings brother Ronnie of Corcoran, California, Linda Price of Fresno, California, Paula Franks of Fort Mohave, California, and his sister Sherry House resided in Clovis, California until her passing. He also has one brother-in-law, Leroy Conner of Yakima, Washington, and several nieces and nephews in California and Yakima, Washington and one in Oregon. At Jimmys request, no services will be held.
