John Brush

John D Brush (Mable), 59, of Yakima, Washington, passed away peacefully in his home, on July 28, 2023, with his wife, Paula, his daughter, Danielle, and son, James, by his side. John was born on April 7, 1964, to Jim Brush and Lou Ellen Balm.

John spent his school years in Ellensburg and Yakima, before graduating in Ellensburg. He married Paula Johnson on August 18, 1990, and they continued to live in the Yakima Valley, residing in the West Valley area. John worked for John I. Haas for over 25 years.

John loved cooking, camping, bonfires, or a relaxing day watching Nascar with his dogs, but if you knew John you knew he loved his Jeep. A Jeep named Mable, a name that soon became his own nickname. His parents were original members of the valley's first Jeep club, The Jeep Jockeys, from which John grew his love for Jeeping. He later became a member of the Jeep clubs, The Timberwolves and Ridge Runners.

John is survived by his wife, Paula Brush, daughter, Danielle, and her husband, Jay Jacobs and their two sons, Austin, and Brody, all of Yakima, Washington, his son, James and his wife, Johna Brush, their children, Erica, and Jackson, of Gresham, Oregon. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jim Brush and Lou Ellen Gasseling.

Thank you to our close friends and family for your love and support through this difficult time. A very heartfelt thank you to his special friends he called brothers, Michael McClellan, Aubrey Patrick, who showed your love and loyal friendship for John as you sat with him every day until the end. Thank you to Duey, Scott, and Don, for their magic on Mable, and a thank you to his boss at Haas Scott for all your help and support. A special thank you to Heartlinks Hospice for your kindness and support. The support and love we received during this time was priceless and meant the world to John and I and our family. We love you all so much.

A Celebration of Life for John "Mable" Brush will be held on September 23, 2023, at 3:00pm, at Lisa Todnem and Mike McClellans place (2680 Nile Rd., Naches, WA).
