Judith Ann Wilson passed on Wednesday, October 7th, 2026 at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital at the age of 85. Judy was born January 1st, 1941 in Yakima, Washington to Leo and Wanda Olson. When Judy was only 8 years old when her mother passed away due to kidney failure. Judy’s grandmother, Berna Olson, was her guiding light and pillar of strength to lean on in her formative years and guided her into adulthood.
She was of the Graduating Class of 1959 from the West Valley High School (currently the W.V. Freshman Campus). After graduating she moved to Seattle, WA for a short time and then returned to the Yakima area where she met her husband-to-be Thomas C. Wilson at a Marine Corp. Ball. They were married on July 14, 1963. They were married for 64 years.
Tom and Judy had two children. Thomas C. Wilson Jr. and Lori Sybouts. She was a devoted mother to Thomas and Lori. They always felt her love by her endless support throughout their lives. She was there to give words of encouragement, their rock when they stumbled, and a listening ear to hear all the good and bad events in their days. Her grandchildren, Trent James Sybouts and Katrina Ann Bridge (Seth) were the joy of her life. She shared a close bond with them and was always present in their lives. Days spent with Grandma were days of creativity, adventure, and good food. Many happy memories.
She was an active member of the Donald Fredrick Guild (Local chapter of the Children’s Orthopedic Hospital). When Thomas and Lori became older she worked at The Del Monte Cannery making large batches of syrup for peaches and pears. She retired after 25 years of employment. Her hobbies included bowling on a women’s league in her early years, decorating for the holidays, and planning Tom’s next “Honey-Do” project. Judy always had ideas of how to remodel the house or cabin. She had a beautiful spirit that always made people feel special and was a great cook and gracious hostess. She had many close friends over the years that created many special memories. Her long time friends Sally Atterberry (Mahre), and Marilyn Chase (Mayfield) were in close contact with Judy up until her passing.
Tom and Judy were able to have many adventures together over the years. They built a cabin on Chinook Pass, traveled to many destinations around the world, and enjoyed participating in many car tours and shows with a 1953 Ford.
Over the last 20+ years her rheumatoid arthritis and macular degeneration gradually decreased her quality of life and led to other serious health issues. She was a strong person who didn’t complain even though she lived with severe pain everyday. When her eyesight completely failed she enjoyed listening to audio books. She loved a good mystery.
