Keith Hubert Foster Obituary (2024)

Keith Foster was born on July 21, 1931, to Keziah and Hubert Foster, of Naches. He passed away on February 22, 2024, in Yakima, Washington. Keith grew up in Naches. In 1949, he attended WSU with an interest in music and after one year, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He spent five years serving his country. As a member of the Air Force band, as first trumpeter, he traveled throughout Europe and Africa. Upon his return, and while attending YVJC, he met his wife, Betty. Together they enrolled at Central Washington University, and within three months decided to marry. Three years later they graduated together in 1959. Keith worked for the Department of Child Welfare, as a social worker for ten years, before transferring to Vocational Rehabilitation as a counselor for 23 years. There he received numerous awards from the State of Washington. Rehabilitating his clients gave him great satisfaction. Keith was very active in his church as a Deacon at Westminster Presbyterian, played in bell choir, and sang in Chancellor choir. His quiet faith and dependence on God was evident to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. One of the greatest gifts that Keith gave his three sons was his unending love for Betty and for each of them, something that they observed and felt throughout their lives. Keith was a man of few words, but had a wonderful sense of humor, a clear devotion to his Lord and Savior, and to his family. He was a great musician, athlete, horticulturist, traveler, and artist that lived an admirable and full life. Keith is survived by his wife of 67 years, Betty, his three sons, Cortney Foster, and Michelle Cody (grandchildren, Callan, Case and Campbell), Craig and Jennifer Foster (grandchildren, Brooke (Eric Borton), Tate (Michael Johnston) and Daniel (Mikaela), and Cameron and Noelle Foster (grandchildren, Kendall and Delaney (Garrett Locher), and his five great-grandchildren.
