Kellie Elaine Ahrendt Obituary (2024)

Kellie Elaine Ahrendt, beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, cousin, aunt, and friend, ran into the arms of Jesus on January 14, 2024. Kellie was born on July 7, 1982 in Yakima, Washington to John and Lillian Ahrendt. From the beginning, Kellie was special. Though she only learned to speak a few words and signs, she communicated volumes with her smile and her hugs. Kellie was a jokester who loved to tease, but always in good fun. Her favorite game was to tell her brother Dusty to go to work (with hand signals) or to steal her sister Kristies chair. Kellie loved to go to church, to spend time with family, and to sing. She could carry a tune well, as long as the song was Jesus Loves Me or The Star Spangled Banner. She was the best buddy for Dutch Bros. runs with her father John and nightly sleepovers with her mother Lillian. One of the greatest joys of her life was when Kellie became an aunt. She loved babies, and Lilly, Jonathan, Charis, Charlie, Rebekah and Josh were her dearest nieces and nephews. So many things about Kellie will be missed, but one of the most cherished was her compassion and concern for others. She was always ready with a tight hug and a smile for anyone who was sad. So many were touched by her life. Kellies final days were spent surrounded by the family she loved until Jesus took her to her new home. Kellie will forever be in the hearts of her mother, Lillian, father, John, sister, Kristie, brother, Dusty, sister-in-law Bethany, brother-in-law Chuck, nieces and nephews Lilly, Jonathan, Charlie, Charis, Rebekah, and Josh, Grandmother Betty, and so, so many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 1:00pm at Calvary Chapel of Yakima, 1021 S 40th Ave, Yakima. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Calvary Chapel (Yakima), Osanidde Orphanage (Uganda), or Rods House (Yakima).
