Kelly Minor

Ellensburg, Washington

Mom's Obituary
Kelly Ring Minor, 61, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family, after a battle with multiple myeloma on April 9, 2025.
She was born on June 3, 1963, in Odessa, Washington, daughter to Harold M. Ring, and Barbara R. Ring. She grew up in Toppenish, graduating from Toppenish High School and moved to Ellensburg to pursue her accounting degree. While at Central Washington University, she met the love of her life, Troy Minor, and the two married in Ellensburg on May 7, 1988. She would later go on to complete a Masters Degree in Accounting, and become a certified public accountant- a testament to her determination and intellect.
Family was the cornerstone of Kelly's life. She shared a loving marriage with her husband, Troy Minor. Together they raised three children: Bailey Patterson (Trevor), Jake Minor (Brianne), and Annie Minor. She was a very involved mother, providing every opportunity for her kids. Most recently, her role as "Gram" brought her immense joy--she was an active and engaged presence in the lives of her grandchildren: Pryor and Bray Patterson, and McCrae Minor (her newest grandbaby who she was so excited to meet).
Kelly was known for her love of the western lifestyle, a true cowgirl. She found joy in riding horses, roping, and barrel racing. Her connection to the rodeo world extended beyond personal participation throughout her life; she was a devoted supporter of her children's, nephew's, and friend's involvement in rodeo competitions and often traveled to cheer them on and babysit her grandkids during the rodeo.
She is also remembered by her mother, Barbara Ring; sister, Karie Langley (Fred); brother, Clay Ring; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her father, Mike Ring.
Kelly's Christian faith was central to who she was. A devout believer, she lived each day guided by grace and compassion. Those who knew Kelly will remember her as kind-hearted, genuine, and deeply loving--a woman who gave freely of herself to those around her.
May Kelly Minor's memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew and loved her.
