Larry Ray Rowe Obituary (1949

Larry Ray Rowe, 73, of Yakima, Washington, passed away on January 3, 2023, in Seattle, Washington. Larry was born on October 25, 1949, in Union Gap, Washington, to Oman Ray Rowe and Willie "Sissy" (McDonald). Larry had two older sisters, Betty Jean Murphy, and LaDonna Ann Musselman, and twin brothers, Johnny Rowe, and Billy Rowe. Larry spent most of his younger years at Miners, Ring-A-Ding, and Skateland, where he met his wife of 50 years, Jan. They married on February 2, 1973. Larry met his lifelong friend, Troy Slack, when they worked together at the Goldendale Aluminum Plant for 15 years, before it closed. Larry went back to college to get his high school diploma and Associates degree in diesel mechanics. Soon after, he received his CDL certification and became a truck driver until his retirement. He was a driver for Noel Foods, Yakima Steel (Merv, Bern and Sharon), and various other companies. Larrys interests were truck driving, camping, fishing, family functions, and family time. He took every opportunity to play dominoes and dice with family and friends. He had a great passion for country dancing and shared that passion with others. A few of Larrys interests included pool, softball, boating, waterskiing, and a love for old cars. Larry truly enjoyed the holidays, especially Christmas and the gag gift tradition. Larry is survived by his wife, Jan Rowe, children, Jamie Rowe, RaeAnn Rowe (Jamie Menchenton), Billy Rowe, Jacob Muir (Lynn Muir), and Larry Rowe Jr. He also had 15 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Larry is preceded in death by his father, Oman Rowe, mother, Sissy Rowe, sisters, Betty Jean, and LaDonna, brothers, Billy Ray, and Johnny Ray. He wasnt rich, he wasnt famous, but hes one of a kind. He had a way with people, that once you met him, you never forgot him. He left his mark on everyone and he was there for anyone. He never sugar coated anything, yet he was very compassionate and giving. A Viewing will be held on January 19, 2023, from 4:00-8:00pm, at Brookside Funeral Home (500 W. Prospect, Moxee, WA 98936). A Funeral Service will be held on January 20, 2023, at 3:00pm, at Brookside Funeral Home, followed by a potluck gathering at 407 E. Seattle Ave., Moxee, WA. In lieu of flowers, contributions towards the services may be sent in care of Brookside Funeral Home (P.O. Box 1267, Moxee, WA 98936), who is caring for the family.
