Leslie Anne Johnson Obituary (2023)

Leslie Anne Johnson, age 66, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2023, surrounded by her husband and three sons. Leslie was born October 3, 1957 in Long Beach, California. As a young girl she moved to Yakima with her family in the early 1960's. Les attended Summitview Elementary, West Valley High and Eisenhower High. In her teen years Leslie enjoyed volunteering at the Selah School for children with disabilities, where she made many lifelong friendships. Leslie's first job was working as a carhop at the old A&W Drive In on Nob Hill Boulevard. She later worked at the Bank of Yakima, where she met the love of her life, Wes, on a blind date at her banks Christmas Party in 1976, Never to be apart, they danced and played together for the next 47 years. A true Love Story. Leslie's three sons were the essence of her life. Boy was she a "Mama Bear"! Anything for her boys. Whether cleaning baseball, basketball or football uniforms, running back and forth to practices and school, or homework and school projects, she did it all with dinner ready to go!! In the boys high school years Les so enjoyed being part of the Davis Athletic Booster Club. Whether selling Christmas trees, working the Corn Booth at the fair, or running the Coca Cola Concession trailer at the Davis baseball field, it was all so much fun for her. Leslie's grand and greatgrand children were always in her thoughts. From the oldest to the youngest, she cherished every moment she had with them. She would always say to each of them "Now remember Grandma loves you all the way to the moon and back plus a million stars." Leslie was a recovering alcoholic for more than forty years. She made a decision early on in her recovery to educate herself. Les went back to school in her early thirties and earned an AA Degree in the chemical dependency field. She worked as a state Certified Counselor serving in many different capacities over the next 20 or so years. In doing so she helped positively change the lives of literally hundreds of her clients. Leslie was very grateful for and proud of her service to others. In retirement Les and her soulmate traveled the great Northwest searching for the ever elusive "Big Jack Pot" with all its bells and whistles. Great travel, great dinners, and great dancing was surely had by the two loving soulmates. Even a "Big Jack Pot" or two were found along the way. Leslie lived her life her way with no apologies. She left this world at peace with grace and dignity, her earthly journey completed. Les will forever be remembered for her absolutely hilarious sense of humor, her abiding loyalty, and her total unconditional love. A life well lived. My Sweet Missyloo. Leslie is survived by her husband, Wesley Johnson, sons Justin, Tyler (Sarah), and Adam (Nichol) Johnson, mother Myrna Beeson, siblings Michael (Ruth) Beeson, Jennifer (Rick) Johnson, and Jaqueline Bounds, grandkids Ryker, Payton, Tyrus, Lolah, Kaydence, Trenten, Wyatt, Bosten, and great grandson Justin, many uncles, nieces and nephews, and lifelong best friend, Debbie. She is preceded in death by her father, John Beeson, sister Laura Purdy, aunt Patsy, and her grandparents Adam and Lucille Krill and John and Anne Beeson.
