Magdaline "Kay" Jenkins, 74, of Yakima, Washington, passed away unexpectedly on July 6, 2025. Born and raised in Yakima, she built a life full of love, laughter, and quiet joys surrounded by the people and places she cherished. Kay was born on December 3, 1950, to Felix and Alice Long. She spent many years working at Row Farms, where her strong work ethic and friendly nature left a lasting impression on those around her. After retiring, she poured her energy into her home and family--roles she held most dear. She had a deep love for animals, especially her cats Felix, Axel, and Tigger, who were her constant companions and brought her daily comfort. Kay loved cozy evenings filled with her favorite TV shows--Criminal Minds, Law & Order: SVU, Breaking Bad, and Orange Is the New Black were among her favorites. She also enjoyed shopping, especially for clothes and purses, and was a faithful fan of the Home Shopping Network. Whether she was watching the Food Channel for ideas or whipping up her own creations in the kitchen, Kay had a gift for cooking that brought her family together. She was creative and thoughtful, often crocheting handmade gifts or relaxing with a game of solitaire on her iPad. Through every season of her life, her Catholic faith remained a source of strength and guidance. Kay is survived by her devoted husband, Richard Jenkins, and her daughter, Becky (Jenkins) Schut. She was a loving grandmother to Duane (Sabrina), Brandon, Katy (Chaz), Christopher, and Zane. She is also survived by her siblings: Dennis (Karen) Long, Patricia (Tom Babcock) Thompson, Sharon Rundgren, Karen (Gary) Walker, and Anola (Jeff) Boyle. She was preceded in death by her son, Daniel Jenkins, and her grandson, Dylan--two losses she carried with her always. Kay had a quiet strength, a gentle soul, and a heart that made everyone feel welcome. She will be remembered for her warmth, her humor, her homemade meals, and the way she showed love in every little thing she did.
