Marian spent her early years on the family farm in North Dakota, speaking German as her first language, and learning many life skills. Hard economic times prompted her family to move to Yakima where she attended St. Paul's Grade School and worked as a fruit and hop field worker, a movie house usherette, and retail checker. After marrying Laurence, she partnered with him to run a family farm in West Valley, earned her GED, and worked for 25 years as a meat wrapper for Safeway.
Marian was a member of Holy Family Church, Catholic War Veterans, and UFCW. She spent her later years managing the family farm, quilting, gardening, and enjoying family get togethers. Marian was dedicated to her family and her church. She was a quiet and steady presence and a loving person. All who knew her will miss her deeply.
