Mark Lawrence Braley Obituary (2023)

Mark Braley was born in Yakima on, January 25, 1967, and died on July 19, 2023. He passed away peacefully, due to cancer, at his home, in Selah, with his wife by his side. He was raised in the Wenas Valley, attending Naches Grade School, and completed the rest of his education in the Selah School District. He spent one summer in high school as a camp counselor. Mark has always had a very strong work ethic. He was taught at a young age by watching his father. He was a perfectionist and a great thinker. He would analyze the steps of the task before starting the project because he wanted it done right the first time. He had his first job at the age of 15, delivering newspapers in Selah. At 16, he got a job working with his parents, at Yakima Pallet and Bin. Later, he began working at Cameron of Yakima, as an Electrician Apprentice, later achieving his Journeyman's license, until the plant closed. He then went to work for Dwinells Visual Systems, obtained his CDL, crane operator's certificate, and electrical cards for Idaho and Oregon. He continued to work there until they closed. He directly went to work for his current employer, Eagle Signs of Yakima. He met his wife, Michelle, while working at Cameron in 1989. Mark had a play hard attitude. He spent a lot of his weekends with family and friends camping, cutting, and splitting wood, and sitting around a campfire. He developed a talent for Dutch oven cooking. Early years weekend campouts were with his family and large group of friends, riding dirt bikes, three wheelers, four wheeling, and playing cards. Over the years, many weekends were spent at the beach in Moclips with family and friends. A big part of Mark's life was also fishing for steelhead, on the Columbia and the Snake Rivers or fishing for walleye, at Banks Lake, as often as he could. He had been on multiple charter fishing trips as well. He went on annual hunting trips with his buddies, whether hiking on foot or riding mules and packing in. He spent time hunting in the Little Naches areas, the LT Murray, and in Idaho along 62 Ridge, of the Selway River. Mark was a true outdoorsman. Mark especially looked forward to his vacation trips every year with his wife. He was always planning the next trip while on the current one. Mark was always there to help a friend. Mark is preceded in death by his father, uncles, aunts, and grandparents. Mark is survived by his wife, Michelle, sons, Warren Sleeth, two granddaughters, Zaine Braley (Ashely), three granddaughters, mother, Sharon, sister, Star Neifert (Marvin), brothers, Rick and Tulsa (Donna), niece, Crystal Neifert (Lyndel), nephew, Craig Neifert (Tish and children), nephew, Cameron Braley (Sarah & children), Tulsa Braley Jr., and Steven Braley, and various cousins.
