Michael Robert SMITH Obituary (2024)

Michael Robert Smith passed away on December 16, 2024, in Yakima, Washington, at the age of 48. Born on May 26, 1976, in Seattle, Washington, Mike's life was defined by his unwavering integrity, dedication to hard work, and a deep love for his family and passions. Mike graduated from Eisenhower High School and built a respected career as a painter with CubCrafters, a local aeronautical company. His meticulous craftsmanship and work ethic left a lasting impression on colleagues and friends alike. A lifelong gearhead, Mike found joy in working on his Subaru STI and riding motorcycles. His passion for mechanics and cars was matched by his generosity, always ready to help a friend in need. Mike also cherished time spent with family at the beach, creating memories that will be treasured forever. Mike is survived by his children, Justice Smith and Taylor Smith; his stepchildren, Amya Hart, Tayshaun Hart, and Colton Kaltenfeldt; his loving partner, Lisa Redtfeldt; his mother, Kathy Hougham; his Aunt June Chapman; his brother and sisters Leonard, Lisa and Tabitha Hodgett and his grandma Patricia Phillips. He is fondly remembered by his close friend, Josh Maybee, as well as his colleagues and friends he met over the years. He was preceded in death by his son, Jeffery Waidner. Mike's memory will continue to shine through the lives of those he touched, the friendships he built, and the family he loved so deeply. A Celebration Of Life will be held Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 3:00pm, with refreshments to follow, at Brookside Funeral Home, 500 W. Prospect, Moxee, WA 98936.
