Neva Jane Woodhouse Obituary (2024)

On Friday, December 13th, 2024, Neva J. (Torson) Woodhouse, passed away at the age of 94 in Yakima, Washington. Neva was born in Pawnee City, Nebraska, and moved to the Ahtanum area during her senior year. Neva married the love of her life, Gail Emerson Woodhouse, and they made their home in the Ahtanum area. They had been married for 76 years. Her whole working career was packing apples and taking care of her family. She was the person whom you would go to for advice, and she always had many suggestions and different ways of looking at solving a problem. Something that we will miss greatly. She loved her family and loved her home. Beautiful flowers were something she took pleasure in, along with a huge garden, which she preserved for her family. Nothing was ever wasted. Her family will miss her along with her neighbors and close friends. We take comfort in the fact that she is in the presence of the Lord and we will be seeing her again. No more pain and suffering. Neva is survived by her husband, Gail Woodhouse, and her daughter, Mary Lou Adkins (Don). She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Geneva Torson, and her brother, Leland Torson. Services will be held at Wiley Union Church on Friday, December 20th, 2024, at 1:00pm. Brookside Funeral Home is caring for the family.
