Patrick George Hollingsworth Obituary (2023)

It is with great sadness that the family of Patrick Hollingsworth of Cle Elum Washington announces his passing at his home on June 26 at the age of 88 years. Patrick graduated from Auburn High School where he was an outstanding athlete. He joined the Coast Guard Reserves, attended the University of Washington and graduated from Western Washington University with a B.A. in Education. His teaching career included time at; Ephrata School District, Wapato School District and lastly Federal Way School District. After earning his Masters in School Administration from Pacific Lutheran University, he continued working in and retired from the Federal Way School District as a junior high and high school administrator. Retirement was not in his DNA so for twenty-three years he had a successful career in the real estate business. Notable athletic achievements include, receiving a letter of inquiry as a pitcher from the Cincinnati Reds and a tryout with the Pittsburg Pirate baseball teams. At heart he was always a Cowboy. His love of horses and the cowboy way began as a youngster after an encounter with a runaway horse. As a hobby Patrick became involved in The Quarter horse racing industry, where his horses won a futurity and derby. Age was never an obstacle which he proved by learning to team rope at the age of 77. He joined the l
