Patrick Laverne McMillan Obituary (2026)

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Patrick (Pat) Laverne McMillan on July 15th, 2026, when he fell ill and passed away unexpectedly. Pat was born in Yakima, WA on July 23rd, 1959, to James & Pauline McMillan. Pat graduated from West Valley High School in 1977 with high honors. After high school he continued to live in Yakima, WA where he later started working for Safeway in 1980. Pat put in a hard 45 years before retiring on July 31st, 2025. In his time at Safeway, he made his way up through the ranks to become the frozen food manager. In between high school and beginning his work at Safeway, Pat met his beloved lifelong wife, Sherry (Worley) McMillan. They were married on June 8th, 1985, and this year they celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary. On February 3rd, 1987, they welcomed their first son, Derrick McMillan, then on October 24th, 1988, they welcomed their second son, Kyle McMillan, and then their third son, Cody McMillan was born March 16th, 1995. Reflecting on Pats life he loved to do many things like fishing, going to concerts with his wife Sherry or just relaxing at the casino trying to win the big bucks. Most of all he loved spending his time with his grandchildren who were his pride and joy. They loved going on trips to the beach as a family. These were the moments he lived for. Pat was known just to be the quiet, relaxed guy in the corner of all the chaos, overseeing everyone that was around at all the family outings. Life will not be the same without his loving presence in it. Pat leaves behind his wife, Sherry, three sons: Derrick (Jessica Kisner) McMillan, Kyle McMillan, and Cody (Jodee Mcintosh) McMillan. He also leaves behind his five grandchildren: Lexi, Eli, Bryson, Bentley, and Madelyn along with his stepmom, Joann McMillan, brother, James McMillan and sister, Sherry McMillan, who will all deeply miss him. He is proceeded in death by his sister, Jackie, his mom, Pauline, and Dad, James McMillan. We will be having a Celebration of Life for Pat in September of 2026.
