Phyllis Ann Miller

–

Moxee, Washington

Phyllis Ann Miller went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus on August 29th after an extended battle with multiple medical issues at the age of 85.

Born in Sutherlin, Oregon on May 9th, 1941 to Brian and Fern McCoy, she was one of four siblings, her older sister Ruby and two younger brothers, Ronald and Bud. The family moved to Roseburg, Oregon when she was two where she attended school and graduated high school.

Phyllis was briefly employed at the Roseburg Police Department after high school as a dispatch officer. She had her two sons, Mark Moen and Mike Moen in Yakima with her first husband, Conrad. During that time she began her career at ITT Continental Bakery, otherwise known as the Hostess/Wonder Bread Thrift Store.

In her 23 years at the store, she met and made many friends and life long acquaintances through her gift of gab. She met her soulmate and future husband Leroy Miller there, who was employed as a delivery driver for Hostess at the time. The family was expanded by two more stepsons, Timothy and Joseph Miller from Leroy's first marriage. Her sons Mark and Mike were very popular through their elementary school years by her generous donations of Twinkies, Ho Ho's, Ding Dong's and Fruit Pies to school functions and birthdays in the classrooms.

Phyllis was a devout Christian and attended Redeemer Lutheran Church regularly and was married to Leroy there. They enjoyed 43 years of marriage and many journeys across the entire United States in their RV, eventually traveling to all of the lower 48 states.

Gardening was a passion of hers, especially her roses. She loved playing cards and games with family especially during the holidays where she always loved making a feast in the kitchen. Art was also a hobby of hers including ceramics and painting, a joy she passed on to her sons.

She was preceded in death by all of her siblings, Ruby, Ronald and Bud, as well as her beloved husband, Leroy. She is survived by two sons, two stepsons, six nieces, three nephews, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren; including her sons Mark and Mike and Leah Moen her daughter in law and grandchildren Cameron and Mikayla. Timothy and Joseph Miller and grandchildren Ryan and Kyle Miller whom she loved dearly.

No memorial service is planned as she chose cremation so her ashes could join with Leroy's at their favorite ocean spot in Oregon.
