Rebecca Eaton

Ellensburg, Washington

Rebecca Suzanne Eaton, 73, went home to be with Jesus on September 13, 2026,
leaving behind a family who adored her and a legacy of kindness that reaches far
beyond those who called her Mama. A beloved mother, grandmother,
great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Rebecca made people feel seen, heard, and
deeply loved.
Born on September 4, 1953, at Tacoma General Hospital to Earl Leslie Eaton and
Virginia Susan (Bledsoe) Eaton, Rebecca grew up in Tacoma, Washington. She devoted
many years to raising her three daughters as a stay-at-home mother. She also worked
as a daycare and preschool director, dental assistant, and at Nordstrom, among other
roles. In her most recent working years, she served as a caregiver for a couple,
bringing the same warmth and compassion to her work that she shared with those she
loved.
Her family was her heart. Rebecca and her daughters, Jen, Jill, and Katie, shared a
bond strengthened through life’s joys, hardships, and everything in between. She was
their mama, their friend, and someone whose love they could always count on. Her
eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren brought her tremendous joy, and she
treasured being their Grandma Becca.
Rebecca always had a smile on her face, even when others could not see what she was
carrying inside. She exuded joy and was a bright light throughout her entire life. That
light shone through her smile, her gentle touch, her thoughtful questions, and her
constant desire to connect deeply with others. She had a way of making people feel
comfortable just as they were, without needing to prove themselves or measure up. Her
kindness offered reassurance, and her encouragement often stayed with people longer
than she could have known.
In the messages and memories shared with her family, that gift is remembered again
and again. One person recalled how Rebecca’s kindness gave them a sense of peace
and acceptance while they were finding their way. Another person who affectionately
called her Grandma Becca wrote about feeling seen, heard, and unconditionally loved
through knowing her. Stories like these remain a prominent theme throughout
Rebecca’s life and in the many lives she touched.
