Robert H. Morphew, 79, of Yakima, passed away on September 20, 2024, at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle, Washington. Born of Blanche and Robert R. Morphew, in San Francisco, California, on February 22, 1945. Robert was a loving man, father, grandfather, and a proud marine.
Robert served in the United States Marine Corps for 20 years, from July 1963 to November 1983, taking him around the world. He treasured and held onto every second he got to spend with his family and friends, especially when it came to card games. When not spending time with the family he enjoyed watching the Mariners, women's volleyball, and woman's softball.
When the games were not on, he loved tending to his garden and taking care of not only his own animals that he loved and held dear, but all animals that were lucky to meet him.
He was not shy, when out living life, he was quick to strike up a conversation with anyone and everyone and making friends along the way.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Blanche and Robert Morphew, brother, Steve Morphew and his wife, Cecille Morphew. He is survived by his son, Scott Morphew, daughter-in-law, Janelle Morphew, grandson, Alec Morphew, nephew, David Edgerly, niece, Danielle Morphew, and long-time friend, Barbara Dodd.
A Viewing will be held on Monday, October 7, 2024, at 11:00am at Brookside Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will follow at 12:30pm, at Tahoma Cemetery in Yakima.
