Ronnie R. Morton Obituary (1958

Ronnie Ralph Morton was born January 19th, 1958, in Yakima, Washington, to Janice Watkins and Ralph Morton. He passed away peacefully at his home on the Morton Ranch, July 6th, 2026. Ronnie grew up in Yakima and attended West Valley High School. He participated in many things: boy scouts, wrestling, baseball, rodeos and motocross. He had many jobs: working as a fishing guide for RW's Fishing Guide Services in Soldotna, Alaska, working for the family business at Morton's Supply, running his own fishing guide service 'Morton's Guide Service' in Yakima, masonry and finally retiring from Pace International in 2024. He enjoyed many things, but most of all, he loved hunting, fishing, being outdoors and having a few beers with his buddies. He never missed a hunting season or a chance to get out in the boat. He was fortunate enough to draw a couple big bull tags for elk season, where he was able to successfully fill them. He had an incredible amount of "trophies" and could recall the story of each. It truly was his passion in life. Ronnie was diagnosed with cancer in February 2025. He was a fighter and did the best he could to overcome the diagnosis. He unfortunately lost his hard-fought battle on July 6th, 2026. Ronnie is survived by his longtime partner, Jeanna Dover. His daughters, Samantha (Jay) McDonald, Sabrina (Patrick) Newman, his granddaughters, Gisele and Kodi McDonald, Aubrey and Riley Newman, his son, Ron Carl (Belinda) Morton, their children, his brother, Terry (Brenda) Morton, his cousin, Chris (Kim) Morton and countless close friends that were like family. He was preceded in death by both of his parents and his brother, Scott Morton. We would like to say thank you to all the hospital staff that tended to Ronnie and especially to the Hospice nurses.
