Steve Ray Salyer

Steven Ray Salyer, 64, of Ellensburg, died Friday, October 11, 2013 at Riverview Manor in Selah.
Steve was born March 24, 1949 in Ardmore, Oklahoma to John Troy Jr. 'JT' and Mary Katherine (Spell) Salyer. He was raised and educated in Ardmore and graduated with a Bachelors of Science Degree from East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma in 1972. Steve taught school for the Deaf and Blind in Dallas, TX for several years and then moved to Portland, OR. He worked for the City of Portland in the Recreation Division. He moved to Ardmore, OK in 1994 retiring to Ellensburg in 2000. Steve enjoyed swimming, working with children and his pets. Steve will be remembered for his sense of humor and lust for life.
Survivors include a brother Keith and wife Nancy Salyer of Ellensburg and two nieces and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John Troy Salyer, III.
Steve will be inurned in Rose Hill Cemetery, Ardmore, OK. There will be no local services.
