Teresa Emily L'Heureux Obituary (2023)

Teresa Emily L'Heureux, born October 31, 1931, weighing a little over 2 pounds, fiercely independent and the second of 8 children. After graduating Selah High School, she started working for Pacific Northwest Bell Telephone Company. After 5 years in Seattle, she transferred to the Yakima office to be at home to help her mother and younger siblings. Retiring after 30 plus years, she was able to pursue her hobbies of yardwork and gardening, knitting sweaters on her knitting machine and making quilts for family members. Teresa continued gardening into her 90's. Reluctantly she gave up rototilling and tooling around the yard on her riding lawnmower. As important as family and hobbies were to Teresa, her faith was more important. Daily Rosaries, and after being unable to attend church, she watched mass on EWTN. Independent to the end, she passed away on her 92nd birthday at the home of a family member. Viewing is scheduled for Tuesday, November 7, 2023 from 4:00pm-7:00pm at Brookside Funeral Home (500 W. Prospect, Moxee, WA 98936). Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at 10:00am at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11:00am, followed by burial at Calvary Cemetery at 2:00pm.
