Timothy Kevin O'Neal Obituary (2023)

On Wednesday, October 18, 2023, Pastor Tim Finished his final race surrounded by his family. Tim was born to Arthur and Barbra ONeal, on September 11, 1963, in Wenatchee, Washington, where he lived until the age of eight. The family then moved to Yakima, Washington. Tim was very active in sports and music at a very young age. At the age of six he began playing rhythm guitar and had mastered picking the eclectic guitar along with playing multiple musical instruments at the age of eleven. Tim excelled in both track and basketball, where he became a star athlete, setting and breaking multiple local records. Tim married Ruth on August 11, 1984. They had two daughters, Chauntelle and Brittany ONeal. Tim and Ruth lived a full life of love and family, holding hands through many adventures with their children, grandchildren, close friends, Ed and Maylene Fisher, and their cousins, Robert and Brenda Wyatt. Tim was a dedicated husband, father, and papa. His pride and joy was his grandkids and his favorite title was, Papa. Tim was employed at St. Elizabeth Hospital/Yakima Regional Hospital, where he made many lifelong friends, until he was diagnosed with osteosarcoma Cancer in 2010. He worked alongside his father at Nu-Life Tabernacle Church. During his time serving with his father, he played many roles in the church, music leader, Sunday school teacher, youth leader and associate pastor. In 1998, when his father passed away, he became the pastor of Nu-Life Tabernacle, until 2000. He joined The Church of God and became pastor of New Generation Family Worship Center in the year 2000, until his passing. During his time as pastor, he touched many lives and his congregation had become his family. Some members of the church had known Tim since he was a small child, while other members followed him from Nu-Life to New Generation. Tim is survived by his wife of 39 years, Ruth, oldest daughter, Chauntelle, her children Rylie, Hannah, Eleni and Titus, youngest daughter, Brittany ONeal, her children Summer, Ryker, Brynley and fianc, Brandin Wolcott, brothers, Jim (Chris) ONeal and Dennis ONeal, aunt, Maxine, and multiple nephews and nieces. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Arthur and Barbara ONeal, father and mother-in-law, Troy and LaVone Sullivan, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and six grand-angels in Heaven. Tims love and passion was God, family, church, and music. His last request he wanted others to know was, "fight to get to heaven, like I fought to live." A Celebration of Life will be held at Christian Life Center (716 N 40th Ave. Yakima, WA. 98908), on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at 2:00pm.
