Wes Mohler

Embalmer/ Funeral Director

Wes was born in California’s Central Valley, and grew up in Ellensburg, WA. After completing high school, he pursued an Associate Degree as a Physical Therapy Assistant from Whatcom Community College in Northwest Washington, enjoying a 10-year span working in long term healthcare. He lived in the Houston, TX area for about 10 years, enjoying the legendary Texas-style barbecue, Texas A & M football, and singing 1st tenor for several years with International Voices Houston, a local community choir. In early 2020, Wes made a career change, pursuing an Associate Degree in Mortuary Science from Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service in Houston. He completed his Embalmer licensure while employed at Carnes Funeral Home, a local, family-owned funeral home. After moving back to the Yakima area in late 2021, he completed his Funeral Director licensure after joining the Brookside Funeral Home team. Wes is also a licensed life / pre-need insurance agent, assisting individuals wanting to plan ahead for their final care. He has a deep appreciation for the rewarding nature of providing compassionate, professional care to families in their time of loss. Outside of work life, Wes enjoys the beautiful outdoors with hiking, camping, fishing, and anything involving snow. He also enjoys cooking up new recipes, as well as playing guitar and singing with family and friends around a backyard evening fire.
